"Vine stress gives you the best"
My dad told me this. When you come from four generations of farmers, these bits of wisdom often arrive unannounced. It's like I was always learning to be a winemaker, but it wasn't until I became one that these pieces dropped into place.
The loamy sand soil in our southern Top Bench vineyard is mean. It drains very well and stresses the vines to drive their roots deep to find water and nutrients. They struggle but struggles breed character, and the minerality, fresh acidity and bright citrus in this wine are its direct result. Thanks Dad.
As it is a white wine, it will complement the usual suspects, such as fish, seafood, chicken, turkey, salads and vegetable dishes.
