Prospect Winery Chardonnay
Balanced & elegant, with notes of citrus and apple and a touch of oak

Insects. I've loved them since I was a kid. Especially the beneficials. These helper bugs are a part of our vineyard team. They do us a huge favour by eating the insects who are inclined to eat our vines. To attract them, we plant flower seeds as part of our vineyard crop. It's a simple, natural way to keep our vines healthy.

I blend this wine from the beneficial-protected grapes in our Oliver and Naramata vineyards. The Oliver fruit is ripe and tropical, while the Naramata fruit has bright, fresh acidity. I age a portion in oak for a little butteriness and a smooth, round finish. I like to think I've done our beneficials proud, but I'll never know. I don't speak bug. Yet.
